Sync Existing Document
This article solely relates to the new version of MoneyWell (that is available from the App Store and released in March 2023) and is entirely not relevant to any of the previous versions, MoneyWell 3, MoneyWell 2 or the MoneyWell 1.
This article explains how to take an existing MoneyWell Document and import it into MoneyWell to sync using the new sync system.

- Open MoneyWell 3 and follow our article on Making a one-off backup
- Open the new MoneyWell
- From the Budgets Window choose "Import MoneyWell Document"
- Select your Document and ensure the "Enable Sync" option is checked
- If you can't see the "Enable Sync" option, click the Options button to reveal it
- Click "Open".
- Your MoneyWell document will open. The sync status will be displayed in the bottom left of the window.
- You can start using MoneyWell immediately, but the budget will not show up on other devices until MoneyWell has finished preparing the document for syncing.
Due to the way that iCloud works, it can take several minutes after MoneyWell reports that the budget has been prepared for it to become visible on another device. After this, changes made on one device should appear within a few seconds on another device.
